Meeting Karl over the deserted st lukes roof car park was just as he explained it, an 80′s music video experience of a life time!

IN STUDIO we were joined by none other than Supergroove Superstar Karl Steven and the ever so wonderful voice of Caoimhe, both part of the sweet and tender sound that make the Drab Doo Riffs, I guess, do the riffs. What’s not a dry-balls joke is awesome epicness this band projects onto both new and experienced listeners, even if you think alternative music is weird, you’ll probably find this tantalising if you’ve never heard of them before.

Since 2006 this unique band has proportionally grown in the hands of Karl Steven and his crew fucking cool music angels. It’s something you actually need to experience for yourself, something you won’t expect, more of the feeling of someone exposing themselves in front of you, but for some reason, you really feel like dancing!

We hand over a personal letter from Scott Kendall from Kendall’s Cream Of Jazz Soup aaaaaaand

Karl describes why he iterates that the word ‘industry’ belongs comfortably in the douche-bag vocabulary and should never be associated with the genre or musics surrounding his works. Fabulously interesting!

Genuinely awesome and epic folk, they are. If you ever see them on the street I highly recommend you spend at least a minute in their presence of speech and soak yourself in the awesomeness that is The Drab Doo Riffs!

Welcome to the first show of Whats the Hoot! A special episode concentrating of the neon-green cool band, Thought Creature.

We caught up with them one lazy Sunday evening after a crammed gig at Cafe 305 for an interview which we choppishly play back through this weeks podcast and talk about their latest happenings.A little bit rushed, but the crazy italian owner was all good :D

Tim and Kermath went to check them out the night before at their main Auckland gig at the Kings Arms. They are a band mashed with many genres, and one that has a true potential to even enter a climatic pop era, but we’ll let you decide. For the full review, click here!

Originally found Discovered By us at Camp A Low Hum 2009, they’ve released an album “Teleport Palace” available mostly in China at the moment since they’ve sold out in New Zealand. They were on a cool tour when we caught up with them, covering the country, before heading over to Australia 2 weeks after the auckland gig.

What is even newer is their ultra awesome brand spanking new music video hitting the streets real soon! Experience dark swamp like you’ve never experienced . Go ahead. Click play!
